Westborough – Applications for Westborough’s Veterans Property Tax Work Program will be available beginning Tuesday, Jan. 19. Residents who participate in the program are eligible to receive a $1,000 credit on their 2017 tax bill for 125 hours of volunteer service. To be eligible you must be a veteran of Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines or Coast Guard; be age 60 or over; be the owner/occupant of the property that is your primary residence (name must appear on the deed); and have been a resident of Westborough for at least five years.
Applications are available at the Senior Center, 4 Rogers Road, and in the Veterans’ Office in Town Hall, 34 W. Main St. Applications need to be returned to the Senior Center by Friday, Feb. 5. Most jobs will begin before the end of February and 125 hours must be completed by Nov. 1. A background check (CORI) is required for all new applicants.
