Grafton Library patrons enjoy party for 90th, 183rd birthdays

Grafton – Grafton Public Library (GPL) patrons of all ages had multiple reasons to celebrate June 24. Sudden downpours stopped in time for most of a four-hour outdoor celebration at Grafton Common to commemorate the library’s 90th anniversary and what would have been the 183rd birthday on June 20 of its benefactor Jerome Wheelock.

Grafton selectmen choose fire protection consulting company

Shrewsbury - Representatives of Jensen Hughes Engineering (headquartered in Baltimore, Md., with local offices in Framingham and Marlborough) attended the Grafton Board of Selectmen’s meeting Aug. 18. The board had chosen the company to assist with potential issues related to the new liquid propane gas (LPG) transfer station at the North Grafton switching yard of the Grafton and Upton Rail Road (GURR).

Grafton selectmen sign energy contracts

Grafton - At their April 12 meeting, Grafton selectmen moved to sign two energy company contracts. Astrum Solar, dba/Direct Solar, had applied several months earlier for a contract to supply aggregate electricity savings to Grafton residents. The request for proposals had been done in January. Direct Solar was chosen as most competitive.
