Hudson High class of “49 reunites for 65th anniversary

Hudson – Members of the Hudson High School (HHS) class of 1949 gathered May 3 at Longfellow's Wayside Inn in Sudbury to celebrate their 65th reunion. They reunite at least every five years thanks to a committee chaired by Barbara (Lenox) Masciarelli, who was the senior class secretary. "I'se had a list of all the classmates ever since we started doing this," she said. "People contact myself or somebody else who's in Hudson with updates if they move."

Hudson Community Garden cleanup planned for Aug. 11

Hudson - Please join volunteers at Hudson's new community garden from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Aug. 11, for our big Volunteer Maintenance Day. The Garden, which serves two dozen gardening families and more through vegetable donations to the Hudson Food Pantry, relies on volunteers to keep the site clean, orderly, and inspiring. The relentless weeds always threaten to retake the Garden space and each month we need to cut them back.

Former NBA player to share his “journey from addiction to recovery”

Hudson - Parents, grandparents and guardians are invited to attend "An Evening with Chris Herren," Monday, April 7, at the Hudson High School (HHS) where the former NBA basketball star will discuss his journey back from a serious drug and alcohol addiction. The event, which is free, will start at 6 p.m. The program is sponsored by the Hudson Youth Substance Abuse Prevention (Hudson YSAP) Coalition. The former college basketball star achieved his dream of playing professionally - including for the Boston Celtics and in leagues overseas - but his success was soon lost as he battled a dark descent into addiction. After intensive rehabilitation programs, he has been alcohol- and drug-free since 2008. He now shares his story with groups such as the Hudson YSAP Coalition in the hopes of reaching individuals and families to help them make positive choices.
