Harvest Hoe Down to benefit Marlborough Senior Center

Marlborough - The Friends of the Marlborough Seniors recently received sponsorship checks for an upcoming fundraiser. New Horizons Independent and Assisted Living Community and Marlborough Hills Healthcare Center made significant donations to sponsor the Harvest Hoe Down, an event planned for Friday, Oct. 19, to raise money for the building fund for a new Senior Center. The checks will help to cover the expense of the Hoe Down, so that ticket and raffle sales will all be profit.

Memorial Day parade planned in Marlborough

Marlborough-The annual Memorial Day parade, honoring veterans, active duty military men and women and those who have given their lives in service to our country, will take place Monday, May 27, starting at 10 a.m. Participants will assemble on lower John Street, off Route 85, proceed to Main Street and stop at war memorials along the parade route, concluding at Monument Square at Mechanic Street.

Regional veterans” district proposed for Marlborough, Sudbury

Marlborough - For the past several months, officials from the city of Marlborough and the town of Sudbury have been working closely to evaluate the potential benefits of combining resources to better serve veterans in their communities. Leading the effort is Mayor Arthur Vigeant, who, via a communication to the City Council during its Feb. 24 meeting, presented a proposal to move forward and regionalize.

Councilor-at-large seat to remain vacant
