CEO to fundraise by bicycling for Big Brothers Big Sisters

Shrewsbury – When Jeffrey Chin of Shrewsbury began as chief executive officer of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Mass/Metrowest in 2013, he also joined the agency’s team for the Rodman Ride for Kids. Now, he’s preparing for his third ride in September and a fundraising kickoff party in July. “I certainly ride recreationally on vacation, but don’t necessarily consider myself an avid cyclist,” he acknowledged. “In preparation for this event I do try to get on the bike two, three or four times prior to that weekend. The course itself isn’t especially tricky for a novice cyclist.”

Selectmen approve management changes in local businesses

hrewsbury - At the regularly scheduled Shrewsbury Board of Selectmen's meeting on Nov. 26, the board met with representatives of local businesses to approve changes in management. Larry Stidsen and Roy Pedersen appeared to represent the Scandinavian Athletic Club, 438 Lake St., to present an application for change of manager from Stidsen to Pedersen. This change is required to keep the business" All Alcohol Club Pouring License. Hours of operation will be Monday through Saturday, 3 p.m. to 2 a.m., and Sunday 11 a.m. to 1 a.m. Eric A. Mahoney and Paul J. Clark then appeared to represent the AMF Bowling Centers, Inc. d/b/a AMF Town & Country Bowl, 405 Boston Turnpike. They applied for approval for a change of manager from Mahoney to Clark. The application included a change of hours of the lane area from Sunday through Saturday, 12 to 10 p.m., to Monday through Saturday 9 a.m. to 2 a.m., and Sunday 11 a.m. to 1 a.m., to coincide with the hours of the rest of the business.
