Westborough – Muriel O. Nugent, 88, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2011 at the St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester. She was the wife of the late Thomas F. Nugent.

Born in Worcester, she was the daughter of the late Oliver and Ina (Reed) Cooper and was educated in Westborough schools.

Mrs. Nugent was employed as a dietician for Westborough State Hospital and for the Westborough Public Schools prior to her retirement. She was a member of the Westborough Sewing Club and The Daughters of the American Revolution.

She is survived by her three children, Paul F. Nugent and his wife Virginia of Westborough, Peter A. Nugent and his wife Susan of Waldorf, Md., and Donna L. Kavanaugh and her husband Anthony of Uxbridge; one brother, Glen Cooper of York, Penn.; seven grandchildren, Patty Nebel, Thomas Nugent, Danielle Pelletier, Crystal Kavanaugh, Anthony Kavanaugh III, Sean Nugent and Paul Nugent; and six great-grandchildren, Dylan Wayne, Kayla Morgan, Jacob, Logan, Rory and Tyler. She was the mother of the late Linda Nugent.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours Friday, Nov. 4, from 4 to 7 p.m., at the Rand-Harper-Pickering Westborough Funeral Home, 62 West Main St., Westborough. A funeral service will be held Saturday, Nov. 5, at 10 a.m., in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.
