Geraldine A. MassadShrewsbury – Geraldine A. “Gerry” (Lucas) Massad, 86, of Shrewsbury, passed away peacefully in her home, with her loving family by her side, on July 6, 2021.

Gerry was born in Medford, a daughter of the late Joseph C. Lucas and Jessie (Hayden) Webber.  She grew up in Worcester, graduating from Commerce High School.

Gerry was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She was a faithful member of St. Anne’s Church in Shrewsbury. Her favorite pasttime was hosting Monday night dinners where family and friends came to gather over a delicious home cooked meal. She was a talented artist, avid golfer, gardener and a member of Pleasant Valley Country Club where she was the women’s club president for many years.

Gerry is survived by her beloved husband of 67 years, Philip P. Massad; their four children, Deborah A. Lombard and her husband Robert of Grafton, Sandra L. McGinnis and Michael Vicens of Shrewsbury, Philip D. Massad and his wife Gina of Charlton, and Paul F. Massad and his wife Maureen of Boylston; and a son-in-law, Leonard Zannotti of Sutton. She also leaves 11 grandchildren, Philip McGinnis and his wife Jilian of Northborough, Christine Elbag and her husband Mark of Rutland, Philip D. Massad Jr. and his wife Nicole of Holden, Sarah Massad of Auburn, Nicole Lombard of Seattle, Patrick Massad of Charlton, James Zannotti of Florida, Brody and Kaden Massad of Boylston, Amy Lombard of Shrewsbury, and Julie Spillane of Florida; nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter, Wendy M. Zannotti.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, July 11, from 3-7 p.m., at Mercadante Funeral Home & Chapel, 370 Plantation St., Worcester. Services for Gerry will be held on Monday, July 12, with procession from the funeral home to St. Anne’s Church, 130 Boston Tpke., Shrewsbury, where her Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester.
