Orlando CoppellottiShrewsbury – Orlando Coppellotti, 71, of Shrewsbury, died on Saturday, August 27, 2022, in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his family. He was diagnosed two years ago with the devastating disease ALS. He soldiered on courageously but ultimately, he sadly lost his battle.

Orlando was born in Bore, Italy, son of the late, Giuseppe and Dolinda Coppellotti.  He, along with his entire family came to the United States aboard the Andrea Doria in 1955; and he lived the remainder of his life in Shrewsbury.

Orlando is survived by his wife of forty years, Patricia (Belanger) Coppellotti; his children, his daughter, Gina Burns and her husband Trevor of N. Grosvenordale, CT, daughter, Lea Keddy and her fiancé Mark Mullholand of Shrewsbury, son, Joseph Coppellotti and his fiancé Sarah Mahoney, both of whom lived with Orlando and his wife, his stepson, Neil Haddad  and his wife Jenny of Pittsboro, NC, stepdaughter, Aleen Haddad of Corvallis, OR; a sister, Pina D’Agostino, wife of the late, Leo D’Agostino of Shrewsbury; nine grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters in law. He was predeceased by his first wife, Nancy (Frongillo) Coppellotti, mother to Gina and Lea. He was also predeceased by a brother, Nello Coppellotti and a sister, Gina.

Orlando was a long-time buyer for Spag’s Supply.  He also worked for several construction companies, including Caprera Construction, Govoni Construction, and LaMountain Brothers.  He was a licensed construction supervisor and remodeled homes and was a gifted and talented handyman.

He was a long-time sports fan, who love to watch football and was grateful to have witnessed the New England Patriots dynasty in his lifetime. He was an excellent billiards player and avid fisherman, but above all, he loved spending time with his family, who always appreciated his great personality and sense of humor.

Orlando’s family would like to extend their sincerest thanks to the JHC Homecare Hospice Service of Worcester, for their diligent and compassionate care provided to him and his family.

Calling hours will be on Thursday, September 1, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. His Funeral will be on Friday, September 2 at 11 a.m. in the funeral home, followed by interment at Mountain View Cemetery in Shrewsbury.
