Daniel C. BreyfogleNorthborough – Daniel Breyfogle, 70, of Northborough, Massachusetts, passed away on July 23, 2023, after a long illness. He was born on May 1, 1953, near St. Louis, Missouri.

Dan is survived by his loving wife, Bridget (Polanski) Breyfogle; his daughter Molly (Breyfogle) Russo, son-in-law David, and grandchildren Laura and Louis; and his brother Forrest Breyfogle III, sister-in-law Rebecca, nephew Wesley, and niece Carla Breyfogle-Gomez. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Laura Breyfogle; his father, Forrest Breyfogle, Jr.; and his mother, Georgia (Schaefer) Breyfogle.

Dan earned his B.S. in Chemistry from the University of Missouri Saint Louis and his M.B.A. from Washington University. He had a long career at the Butcher Company in Marlborough, where he held roles in product development, product support, and marketing. He also worked at Trans-Mate in North Billerica.

Dan was a longtime member of the Northborough Marathon Bridge Club. He was a lifelong learner and immersed himself in numerous hobbies, including swing dancing, smoking meats, curing bacon, fermenting vegetables, brewing beer, greyhound rescue, geocaching, bicycling, cross-country skiing, backpacking, holding forth on issues of local concern, and, most recently, playing board games with his beloved grandchildren.

Visiting hours will be held at Hays Funeral Home, 56 Main Street, Northborough on Tuesday, August 1, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. and again, Wednesday, August 2, from 9:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. Daniel’s memorial service will follow at 10 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the Clara Barton Camp – Laura Breyfogle Memorial Fund (bartoncenter.org) or the Jimmy Fund (jimmyfund.org). In gratitude for the countless blood donations that sustained Dan during his illness, the family encourages eligible donors to donate blood or platelets as often as they can.
