Maureen FlynnGrafton – Maureen (Bair) Flynn, 80, passed away July 29, 2023 following an illness.

She is survived by her siblings Mary Catherine Forde and her partner Martha Woodbridge, Joan Marie Mullaney, Thomas Charles Bair, Jr. and his wife Geralyn, Edward James Bair, Timothy William Bair, Patricia Anne Harris, Elizabeth “Betsy” Smith and her husband Ronald Smith, Virginia Grace Bair, her granddaughters Cassandra Chouinard, Mickenna-Molly Westerlind and Faith Davin, 5 great-granddaughters and Eileen and Joseph Flynn who were always very kind and loving to her. She was predeceased by her daughter Elizabeth Flynn-Barry and her brother John Patrick Bair.

Maureen was born December 25, 1942 in Utica, NY, the oldest of ten children, daughter of the late Patricia (Groves) and Thomas Charles Bair Sr. Her roots were in upstate NY having lived in Utica, Norwich and Canastota.

Always a brilliant student, she studied at Oswego State University and Worcester State University, receiving a Bachelor’s degree in Education. She loved her teaching position as a 2nd grade teacher in North Grafton for many years. She was instantly loved by her students, their parents and her colleagues.

A devout Catholic, her faith was of vital importance and sustained her throughout her lifetime. Her last few years were spent in the loving care of Beaumont Rehabilitation Center in Westborough. She was devoted to family and friends alike and cherished the Sunday phone calls that kept her informed of all their happenings. Those close to her could always count on a birthday card and a warmly worded thank you note whenever love or kindness were given to her.

All are welcome to gather with Maureen’s family and friends Sunday August 6th from 4pm to 6pm at Roney Funeral Home 152 Worcester St. N. Grafton, MA 01536. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday August 7th at 11:00am at St. Mary’s Church 17 Waterville St. N. Grafton, MA 01536. Burial will be held privately.
