Hudson – D. Frizelle Mason-Jones, 70, of Hudson, Massachusetts passed away September 19, 2023, after a lengthy illness. He was a writer of television and movie scripts, winning many new writer awards.
An avid movie fan, his first love was the theater. He worked in New York City in the Theater District in his younger years and was the House Manager for the Cheswick Theater in Sudbury, MA until it closed. Frizelle then began a long career in the cable industry, most recently as a Business Development Manager for Astound Broadband in Arlington. Frizelle grew up in Newburyport and loved to return to his childhood roots, visiting Plum Island and eating at the Clam Box.
Frizelle leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife of 42 years, C. Mae Mason-Jones, siblings Lance Stokes and Rita M. Dady, nieces Kofi Jones, Keely Jones and Rose Dady, a great-nephew Jazz Washington and great-niece Trinity DeHoyos, along with a devoted best friend Nancy Sweeter and endless extended family and friends. Preceding Frizelle in death were his mother, Ruth Stokes, his father William Jones, and his brother Arthur L. Jones.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Funeral Services on Saturday, September 30, 2023 at 12:30pm at the Twomey, LeBlanc, & Conte Funeral Home, 193 High Street in Newburyport, MA. His graveside Service will follow at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Newburyport at 1:30pm.
