Tackling town trivia during Hudson 150th anniversary

Hudson – As Hudson celebrates its 150th anniversary, residents and visitors were challenged to test their knowledge of the town spanning its century-and-a-half history. They attended Trivia Game Night, presented July 18 at the Hudson Public Library with Vertigo Trivia owner and host Dan Barbour. He’s also the young adult librarian at the Shrewsbury Public Library.

Hudson ceremony welcomes 253 new U.S. citizens

Hudson – The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) presented 253 citizenship candidates to the Middlesex Superior Court during a naturalization ceremony held July 15 in the Riverview banquet hall of the Hudson Portuguese Club. Administering the Oath of Allegiance to the new American citizens was the Honorable Rosalind Miller, associate justice of the Massachusetts Superior Court.

Hudson High alum continues his musical journey

Hudson – Before entering senior year at Belmont University in Nashville this fall, singer-songwriter Vinny Bonina returned to perform at Hudson High School (HHS) where he graduated in 2013. Singing his original music at the HHS spring concert was one of several local gigs while on summer break.

Hudson student forms charity to benefit Peruvian schoolchildren

Hudson - Recently graduated Hudson High School senior Meghan Cadden and her teacher June Murray first discussed the idea of providing scholarships to Peruvian children while sailing down the Amazon River on a school trip this spring. By June, that conversation had grown into a charity called Contra La Corriente.

Rotarians’ Hudson Food & Brewfest continues to expand

Avidia Bank to add Financial Center in Hudson

Hudson - Avidia Bank has announced the expansion of its service delivery in Hudson. In early July, the bank will begin renovations to the 17 Pope Street location that will be vacated by Citizens Bank June 30. The Financial Center will include commercial banking, residential lending, financial services and retail banking. In addition, the bank will have a shared community room for local organizations to schedule events and meetings.
