Marlborough - An Emergency Management Program Grant (EMPG) for $18,435 to purchase an All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) for use by the Conservation Commission, Police and Fire departments was approved the City Council at the Sept. 22 meeting.

Councilor suggests event coordinator for the city

Marlborough - Ward 7 Councilor Donald Landers sees the value of having an event coordinator for the city and is proposing that funding for the position could come from the Marlborough Economic Development Corporation (MEDC). His request for consideration of the plan, presented at the Aug. 25 meeting, met with some opposition from councilors before being referred to the Operations and Oversight Committee, chaired by Matt Elder.

Marlborough - Board members of the Friends of the Marlborough Senior Center extend an invitation to all to attend a Boot Scootin’ Barbecue Saturday, Oct. 18, at the Masonic Hall. A buffet featuring barbecued ribs, marinated chicken, corn bread, apple pie, and more will be served. DJ George will provide a variety of live music for line dancing, singing or just plain listening that will set the tone for an evening of good old western fun.

For the third year, the Marlborough Moose Family Center 1129 will host the Haunted Woods food drive for three weekends in October and Halloween evening.
