The C.A. six tips of the day for June 13

Region - Today is Wednesday, June 13, the 165th day of 2012. We'se all heard it dozens of times (although hopefully only on TV and in movies, not in person!) – "You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you?" The Miranda Rights, as the standard police protocol that advises suspects of their rights is called, has only been around since this day in 1966. On this day in 1967, President Lyndon B. Johnson appointed Thurgood Marshall to the Supreme Court. Marshall, the first African American to ever be appointed to serve on the country's highest court, served until 1991. And on this day in 1970, the Beatles had their last number one hit – The Long and Winding Road. Today's birthdays include – Richard Thomas, best-known for his role as "John Boy" on The Waltons; actor Tim Allen, star of the sit-com, Home Improvement (1953); and actresses/fashion designers Ashley and Mary Kate Olsen (1986). Here are six tips for the day - Help us honor our local service men and women, like these three men, if your loved one is in the service or attending a military school.
